BIOGRAPHY
Alexia Pasquariello studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Karen Jones, Helen Keen, and Diomedes Demetriades. Renowned for her captivating stage presence, she has been celebrated as “one of the top 100 most remarkable young musicians of Romania” (IQ de Romania). Alexia has won numerous national and international competitions, including first prizes at the Emanuel Elenescu International Music Competition and The Golden Pound National Music Competition.
Solo Performances
As a soloist, Alexia has performed with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra and the Pitesti Symphony Orchestra. She has graced major concert venues such as the Romanian Athenaeum, the National Library of Bucharest, and the Belarusian State Philharmonic. Alexia has also been featured at the prestigious George Enescu International Festival.
Orchestral Experience
Her orchestral experience includes membership in the “Dinu Lipatti” Youth Orchestra and the National Woodwind and Brass Orchestra, with international tours in Belarus and the UK. Currently, Alexia performs with the Young Musician Symphony Orchestra and the Odyssey Festival Orchestra, showcasing her talent in esteemed London venues such as St. John’s Smith Square, Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre, and Cadogan Hall.
Chamber Music Activity
Alexia is a founding member of the Allegria Trio, a unique ensemble comprising flute, violin, and viola. This trio frequently collaborates with guest string artists to expand its repertoire and explore diverse musical styles. Additionally, Alexia performs in a flute and harp duo with Clara Gatti-Comini, captivating audiences in the UK and internationally both as guest performers with orchestras and in their own chamber music recitals. Her chamber music experience is extensive, including performances with ensembles featuring two flutes and piano, as well as variations with harp, covering a wide range from pre-classical to contemporary works. Furthermore, Alexia has showcased her versatility throughout time by playing in flute quartet, woodwind quintet and even flute choir projects, demonstrating her adaptability and breadth as a chamber musician.
Education and Support
Alexia is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. Supported by the Eric Thinmann Foundation and two private donors, she received an instrument purchase grant from the Royal Philharmonic Society towards a Braun piccolo in 2021 and was awarded her current Muramatsu platinum PTP flute by the Cherubim Trust in 2022.
Masterclasses and Mentorship
Alexia has honed her craft through masterclasses with eminent flautists like James Galway, Silvia Careddu, Emily Beynon, Kertten McCall , Emmanuel Pahud, Denis Bouriakov, William Bennett, Paul Edmund-Davies, Michael Cox, Samuel Coles, Laura Jellicoe, Gitte Marcusson and Keith Bragg. Studying under the guidance of Karen Jones, Helen Keen, and Diomedes Demetriades, she continues to refine her technique and artistry, establishing herself as a rising star in the world of classical music.
